I used color phonics program from Alpha Omega.. Is around $40.00 and is a CD Rom series. It is an excellent computer program... My children like it. The software likes windows 98 or XP much better than Vista, but Is well worth the money. It is set up for preschoolers and it starts out so basic they do a fishing game and catch the letters on the hook.. My preschool son is has no interest in school work, but does like the color phonics. Also work with him on motor skills... skipping , crawling , running , catching a ball, hopping on one foot and balancing excercises. Any kind of patterning things ( Like crawling across the floor) will help him read better. Great resources : The Brain Integration Therapy book by Dianne Craft, and The Brain Gym by Paul Dennison... These are not real expensive books but a wealth of info. And don't sweat it. He is only 4. He has plenty of time... He is by no means behind.
