In my state child support is based on parental income, and if one parent is not working then they have to base it on the parent who is working, they don't just make up a dollar amount for what they think the non-work parent should be earning. my stb-x, has agreed to help me continue to homeschool, he is paying a little extra support, but only as long as i homeschool, if i quit homeschooling or get a job and still continue to homeschool i loose the extra support, among other things. the 'extra' i get is just enough for us to survive on, so creative homeschooling will have to come into play. this situation is going to become more and more common and then maybe the courts or the state will address the issue, not really looking forward to that, another way around it is a pre-nup new here by the way
