It's been a long and difficult road for the past six years since I first became a single parent. Those of you who have followed my saga know the depths we've been through. But Praise Be To God, it looks like the tide has finally turned. Three years ago I was forced to re-enter the work force full time because of the lack of child support and the debt left to me by the X. I am very blessed in that my parents live next door and were able to take over the daily supervision of the children and their schooling while I was gone. Even so, it was heart wrenching to leave my children every day to go and work. Now, after three years of working out of the home, I have finally paid off the entire debt. I am now debt free and own my home and (very old) van outright. Then on top of that, God dropped my dream job right in my lap. I've been hired as the para-professional (shared district executive) position for the local boy scout council. I will be working with struggling units to get them back on track and with new units to see that they have all they need to become thriving units. I am being paid almost the same amount I was making at my old job, but have flexible hours and get to do what I love. It's been awesome to be here to fix three meals a day with my children and to be able to walk every day with my son. (I'm trying to get back in shape after being tied to a desk for three years and he's training for Philmont.) I give God all the credit for what He's done. When all else falls and fails, God is true and faithful!
