Subject:	Does anyone know how to get the P.O. to track a package that was last scanned at a postal facility 3-4 weeks ago?

I mailed a package with delivery confirmation. It has been tracked to a facility in California and has not moved in the last 3-4 weeks. The buyer has asked me to try to have the post office trace the package from my end. I tried to request a form that the buyer's post office said I needed to fill out but my local post office said that the form was obsolete and I should file a request online. After following the local post office's instructions, I filed something online but it seemed to me to be just to report intentional mishandling of the mail and wasn't really intended to be used to trace a particular package. I was told at another post office that they couldn't help me trace the package unless it had been insured. Has anyone had this problem before? I have mailed hundreds of packages and never had one lost or damaged. I don't know what happened to this one except the last time it was scanned it was in California. Any ideas would be appreciated.
