I believe that most older internationally adopted children need intense therapies to help them physically and emotionally. Our son has had and still has O.T.and social skill training after 8 years. He is 11.He has had speech therapy, music therapy, craniosacral, vision, and psychological therapies. We have not been able to afford all that he needs. He has advanced in some academic areas beyond his age but is behind in some areas. We are encouraged by his progress yet grieve over many things especially his poor social skills with his peers(though they have been improving). My biggest regret is that in many situations he is lonely because he does not understand social nuances that give people clues as to how to socialize well.We are thankful for him and the blessings he has brought into our lives. This time with him has been a growing experience for our family. Please be encouraged that God has a purpose for each of the children.Don't give up!
