It's not easy to forgive. Many of us wonder why we should even bother. Many of us are so filled with rage and indignation over all the terrorism, victimization and attack all around us, the thought of turning the other cheek, acceptance and forgiveness is ludicrous. And anyone preaching such a position in these turbulent times must be living in a Mary Poppins universe, out of touch with the reality of 21st century mayhem... I understand. And I'm here to say that the point of preaching forgiveness, acceptance and love amidst all the aggression, chaos and confusion is simply to remind all of us, myself included, that those ideals are a place we should try to get to... someday.... regardless of how insane or difficult the premise of unconditional acceptance, forgiveness and love may presently seem to be.
