Subject: Travel to Stawell

Hi. My name is Sandra Hillard. I work for an international Oriental Antiques sourcing agency and wholesaler, and we have our main office and a showroom in the delightful regional city of Stawell in Victoria Australia. Frankly we reckon the Local Government, the Northern Grampians Shire Council is doing diddly squat to promote tourism here. We could be wrong, but we reckon the actions speak louder than words.
We have done everything we can, as a private initiative to promote tourism to our fair city. For two years now we have been offering our customers in other parts of Australia to visit, and if they spend more than $2000 at our showroom, then we will pay for their accomodation while they are here, up to $120. You would be surprised how many have taken up the offer. We are right next door to a famous Pasta restaurant franchise as well, so we always suggest that our visitors have something to eat next door before making their minds up on a big purchase.
At the moment we are having a major liquidation sale, so we expect a lot of people to take up this offer. I would like to suggest that this is the sort of thing more businesses should be doing. You can't wait forever for your council to get its act into gear, you have to be innovative and pro-active even if they aren.
