I live in Queensland and I find that veg/vegan food is fairly readily available, although you wouldn't go to certain parts of the state (Rockhampton for example, which is known as the beef capital). Look on our Qld veg society's website www.vegsoc.org.au for further info. Haven't been to other states so can't help you there.
