I noticed my hair does not fall off as much when I switch to baby shampoo (less than 40 hair follicles per day, which is normal). Also I just started using the Nioxin topical scalp treatment. I noticed some hair growth back at areas that I wouldn't thought possible. I am not sure if that has to do w/ McDougall diet, or the Nioxin; it is probably a combination. My brother is using the 5% Minoxidil topical and he also demonstrated a obvious thickening of his hair line within a few months. I used to take Saw Palmetto (which help to decrease DHT, and I noticed less hair falling off too, some research shows it helps for hair regrowth). But I don't like taking supplement anymore. As for the weight, I loss 20lbs by being on McDougall diet for two months. That is the same weight as when I was in high school, 140lbs at 5'10". I eliminated salt from my diet too, and I take the sauna 2-3x a week. My BP is 110/65, just the way I like it. I also noticed my vision become less myopic (nearsighted). I am doing yoga, and eye exercises, and drinking extracted vegetable/fruit juice. But the most important thing for decreasing nearsightedness is wearing lens plus and doing QiGong. QiGong is a form of breathing through the belly (the way babies do), and there are many great benefits. I always wonder after eating nutritionally, what is more important and more to learn. It has to do w/ breathing, and we breathe all the time, most of us breathe w/o knowing the proper way. Just some thoughts. I will be happy to provide more info if ask on. McDougall diet really works for me; he has established a foundation on my diet that I strictly go by.
