Well, I think they are getting on the right track, or at least parallel to it, with them promoting more whole grains in the diet and re-doing the Pyramid some. But the only pyramid I will always truely follow is McDougall's one :)

Probably pressure from the animal farmers etc and in congress is right now preventing any further action from the Feds. But pressure from us Vegans (vegetarians) as our #'s grow in the population will finally win out and the farmers will be paid subsidies to switch from animlas to plants (that is what I hope happens one day), for it will feed many more people on the same acerage as it takes to raise cows only to feed a few. you have to wait YEARS for cows to grow up in order to eat them while plants are ready in just a few short months, so you can grow again and again right away on the same plot of land, yielding Much more profits in the same time span and keeping America (and the world) well-fed and healthy.
