Summary: Very slow weight loss, try new recipes, eat more veggies, and keep on going in the manner I am going. I hate to be so darned concerned about weight, but my number one goal still is to lose weight. I AM already healthy. I AM already fit. I already have dropped my blood pressure a LOT. My weight lifting trainer tells me I am stronger than most women and many men and my aerobic fitness level is high. I just want to lose more weight and maintain my health and fitness. Specifically my goal is to get into the "normal" weight range in 2005 which is a loss of less than 10 pounds planned for this year. Going at a slow pace I would like to lose 10 pounds in 2006 and 10 pounds in 2007 putting me at my ultimate final goal weight in January 2008 somewhere closer to the bottom of the normal range. How's that for long range goal setting? If it happens sooner I'd love it but I plan to eat my way to weight loss not starve my way to weight loss. My eating goals are to keep on with what I am doing but as much as possible increase vegetable intake. I already eat lots of veggies since my goal for several years has been a minimum of 9 half cup servings of veggies a day. Still veggies are the one thing that I actively have to work at to eat and I wake up some days feeling that I can not face another vegetable. I would LOVE to never get the "ICK" feeling when looking at a plate of veggies but that's not even a goal since how do you make yourself not feel "ICK" instead of "YUM"? However, along the lines of YUM versus ICK it is my goal to make more of an effort to try out new recipes this year. I get really stuck in ruts and it's no surprise I get sick of looking at certain foods. What I plan to keep on doing is: walking, elliptical, weight lifting, eating whle grains, veggies, beans, fruit.
