Actually, high protein diets are bad for bone strength. Protein makes your system acid; the way your body balances the acid is drawing calcium from your bones. If you look at the countries with the highest rates of osteoporosis they are the same countries with the highest protein consumption.

It is difficult to not get enough protein in any diet with sufficient calories. The pathological diet of all apples and bannanas might produce protein deficiency but short of that you are going to get enough protein no mater what you eat.

1,200 kcal might be a way to quickly drop some weight but unless you are tiny it isn't enough calories.

Protein does not directly give energy, carbohydrates do this. Before your body can use protein for energy it has to be converted to carbs.
