There's nothing wrong with a low calorie, high protein diet. In fact, it's a very smart way to control weight loss and food consumption. Protein gives you the energy you need to burn those calories, and also helps to manage your appetite. And why 1200 calories a day? It's a perfect amount for your daily intake if you are a moderately active person. Society's main problem in controlling their weight is not only WHAT they are eating but HOW MUCH they are eating. A 1200 calorie diet gives you a limit so you do not over eat! And while you are at it, the protein aids in building lean muscles, & strong bones.
