Here's my take on fruit: I love fruit. If I could maintain a healthy lifestyle eating solely fruit, I would! I always end up eating way too many calories if fruit is involved. Some people can have one banana as a snack and be fine, but I'll end up eating three. I go with the three a day fruit serving and (usually) only keep bananas and grapefruit in the house. I eat a banana sandwich for lunch right now (I'm a fan of grains :) ) and the grains keep me so full that I don't want to eat anymore. I eat anywhere from 1-3 small/medium-ish grapefruit in a day. I love grapefruit and it quells any desires to overeat. I've never been able to "stick" with one diet plan besides veganism, and I think this is because we're all so different. I always use this as an example... so many people find beans satisfying; I cannot eat beans, though. I feel so heavy, and then experience this insatiable hunger. That's how many people feel after they've consumed grains, but I feel satiated after eating grains. Different strokes for different folks :). You just have to find what works!
