Cheese is very high in fat and calories, and 1 serving is only 1-ounce. A serving of cheese is so small that many people eat 2-3 servings of cheese in a meal, but still think they just ate a little bit of cheese. In other words, the cheese adds up very quickly! I'd suggest cutting out the cheese rather than going back to eating meat.

Also, keep in mind that even on a completely vegan diet, calories are still calories - and if you eat more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. The key there is to eat the right amounts of calories and do the right amounts of exercises.
