I know this subject comes up a lot, but can we discuss vegan dog (not cat) food a bit more? I feel bad feeding my dogs a meat diet, but I'm just not convinced. I think I've read all the information available on the subject on internet and remain confused. Where I live I could only get Ami Dog or Yarrah as commercial dog foods. As far as I know, neither one contains carnitine or taurine, so that would have to be supplemented. Besides that,they seem like a vitaminized version of fritos. Anyone have positive or negative feelings about or experiences with home made vegan diets? Anyone study the issue and decide not to do it? I'm particularly concerned because one of my dogs is pathologically timid and I've never been able to bring him to a vet. I doubt I could collect a urine sample from him.
