I can't tell if you need more protein or not. However, protein is not primarily an energy food. It is mostly for building muscles and repairing injuries. Your body will use it for energy only if you are eating an excess of it. So, feeling a lack of energy is not normally a sign of protein deficiency. In fact, protein deficiency is quire rare. Your energy foods are carbohydrates and fats. Simple carbohydrates (sugars and refined starches) give quick energy, but can cause weight problems due to the surplus of calories. Complex carbohydrates provide slower-release energy, and are the best source of energy. Fats are stored energy. People do lose weight on high-protein diets, but only because eating that way is toxic. It is not a lifestyle that anyone can stick with long-term. Keith
