What exactly is dextrose? I know it must be a type of sweetener since its suffix ends in "ose", but how does it differ from sucrose? Is dextrose a vegan ingredient? I have found this ingredient in peanut butters and some "accidentally vegan" snack foods. Is it processed with animal bone char?
