I had trouble following your link. I think the link below is the correct one. I agree with you (and with the author) that this is a disturbing trend. Where it applies to your situation is that you have two conflicting committments. Being vegan is a committment of one sort. Accepting employment is another sort of committment. If you accept a particular job, you make a committment to perform whatever duties the job requires, even if that means handling meat. Since that is in conflict with your other committment, being a vegan, I would have to recommend resigning from the job. However, there is an opportunity for education here. People in business tend to think in economic terms. "Principles" to them are just a marketing ploy. Realizing that someone held a principle high enough to turn down employment might be an eye-opener. If you were to approach your employer and explain why you felt compelled to leave the position, it might make them think about why they were selling meat. Just a thought. Keith
