Is it preferrable to use generic drugs when they're available? I figure that the original company that developed the drug isn't getting paid after their patent has expired. So if we buy generics, we're not paying to cover the cost of their research. I've been thinking of possibly going back on Prozac (Fluoxetine). A generic version is now available. I guess there's no way to guarantee that the profits from the generic prozac won't be used to fund more animal testing for something else, though. But anyway, its a thought.
