Hi Veghead, I too battle with depression and I am for the moment medication free, but was previously on anti depressants which helped enormously. However the experiments the animals are put through (such as making them depressed in the first place by putting them in dark cages away from other animals, depriving them of interaction with their parents/babies) is too much for me to bear.

My main concern with being vegan and taking prescription drugs is that some of us vegans (me included) suddenly change our stance on animal rights. One minute we're saying it's wrong to eat meat, use makeup that is tested on animals, it's wrong for animals to be degraded in circuses and entertain us, but when it comes to drugs, it's suddenly ok for human rights be take priority over the rights of animals.

As you can tell, I'm battling with this whole concept.
