Craig, you are beating yourself up over something an "authority" has told you is a problem, not something YOU have determined is a true problem or addiction for you. (And I am saying this as the person who developed the recipe section for Breaking the Food Seduction, and I have enormous respect for Neal Barnard and his work.) Is your enjoyment of sugar interfering with your life? Is your enjoyment of sugar making you sick or obese? Or is it that your FEAR of sugar is causing you problems now. If you occasionally enjoy sugary foods or products that contain some sugar, so what? As the saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." It seems like your "cure" is causing you significantly more problems (and obsessions) than the "problem" itself. ~Jo
