Funny, I would do the opposite, unless it was someone I knew. Odds are the nonhuman animal would go on to do a lot less destruction to this world in its lifetime than a human would. And especially if the animal were an endangered species, and the individual was likely healthy and fertile. People? There are way, way, waaaaaaaay too many people in the world to justify saving one of their lives.

Such a silly hypothetical situation though. Omnivores love to ask vegans questions like that. Since it would never actually happen, it's quite ridiculous to contemplate or bother discussing, really. But I since I *did* indulge the thought, I realized that I quite disagreed, if such a preposterous situation were to arise.

Obviously my opinion is not based on ethics at all, and is purely an objective environmental stance. If I were in the actual situation, perhaps emotions would come into play, and I might act differently.

Bearing the above in mind, I am aware that I am off-topic, so please accept my apologies. I will now shut up.
