Hi, I am a somewhat ex-vegan who eats some occasional cheese, usually on a slice of pizza of which I will have no more than a couple of slices per week (Im in college and this is convenience food, people!) Anyhow, my issue is this: I excercise a lot-running. I run between 2-6 miles per day. I am at a healthy weight for my height at 5'7" and roughly 122 lbs. However, I have not had a mentrual period in over 2.5 years. A couple of years ago I had anorexia but I was hospitalized and have since recovered, I was 94 lbs at my lowest weight. I have gone through phases where I have eaten quite a bit since then. It seems like no matter what I do- lay off the excercise, up the caloric intake, etc, my periods have just adiosed into oblivion. What should I do? Should I be worried? Should I be using additional precaution beyond coitus interruptus with my boyfriend even though I know we are both STD free and monogamous? Is there a chance that I might be permanantly infertile or sterile? As messed up as this sounds, I dont think I would mind that (Im in my early 20s though and the biological clock anxiety has yet to strike) I would appreciate any feedback from other women. I am aware that this board is not necessarily intended for health discussions nor is it gender restricted. Hopefully I have not offended anyone by raising this topic here. Thanks!!
