Spend 15 minutes on the PETA websites, yes they even have an animal activist website, and you will be moved. Especially the PETATV site with the video message from Martha Stewart. Ugh! Keith and Kriter are right, start small, locally, depending on how much time you have. IMHO, anyone who wears a message tee, button, hat, bumpersticker, orders vegan food, vegan clothing, etc. is an activist. Not all activists run nekkid in the streets protesting against fur, although that does get the attention! Ingrid Newkirk used to clean the cages at the local humane society. Something small, unnoticed but needed to be done and most appreciated by the animals for sure! I volunteer at the local sanctuary cleaning the barns and pick-up donated produce from grocery stores to bring to the animals. But you need to find what you enjoy doing. If you are young, you might enjoy working with teens helping them to understand veganism.
