IMO, PETA is controversial and turns off as many people as it brings in. But that's just my opinion and it's not why I recommend Earthsave. Earthsave works by people starting their own chapters and getting involved in their own community. There might already be one where you live or you can go to earthsave.org to get information on starting one. I like it better than PETA or other national groups because instead of everyone doing the same thing the same way all the time, in Earthsave, the national office can provide programs and materials, but you tailor them and your activities to fit your community and involve the people in your community. It's also friendlier. Instead of confronting people like PETA does, Earthsave reaches out to them. LOL! I know I sound like a commercial for Earthsave, but it really is a great group.
