I'm not an in-your-face person. I did not become a Christian because a street preacher told me that because my skirt was too short and that I smoked I was going to hell. (This actually happened. When my husband was at Ohio University street preachers would come to the main green and preach hellfire and dmanation. My husband was one of the ones who would challenge them. Great lunchtime entertainment. I digress.)

I recently told my dad, a Lutheran pastor, that I would probably never join PeTA because they were the hellfire and damnation preachers of animal rights. He found that funny. (The joke was intentional, as he was still trying to come to terms with my vegetarianism. I just wanted to let him know that I'm still "okay".) The Lutheran Church preaches grace and that's what I like--Gentle guiding and teaching. Even with my husband, an omni, I don't tell him what he does is "wrong", but he does support me.

I also got one of those questionnaires (sp?). The nickle went into my change mug, and probably got used for bus fare. To save postage, I was going to e-mail them my answers. However, I got sick of looking at it and not doing it, so I recycled it.

PeTA does do good and bad, I think. I will use their informative Websties, but I will probably not donate to them. I've heard contradictory things about them, like when somebody here mentioned they euthanize. Hhhmmm... Also, I wonder about Pamela Anderson--Does she or does she not still have implants and wouldn't that be somewhat contradictory?
