Subject: would love opinions about proactiv or other acne-fighting lines
Date: October 2, 2006 at 9:37 am PST
hi folks
I am looking for a solution for my acne-- being almost 30 and still having a face that looks
like a teenagers is so not fun. I remember reading on this board that some folks have had
good results with Proactiv products, so I was hoping to solicit opinions.
I have been reading on the official website, and the products don't really seem to be any
different than most topical acne products, and they are full of unpronounceable ingredients
and parabens. Frankly, though, if it works I don't care-- I have tried so much stuff to no
avail that I am at the end of my rope.
I was using Origins for years but still getting breakouts on my chin and jawline with
breakthrough shin throughout the day. I wanted to move away from using parabens, so I
started to use a mix of health food store products, Jason, Aubrey, and some others. My acne
pretty much stayed the same, and the Aubrey moisturizer with SPF made my face
unbelievably greasy during the day. I have been using mostly Dr Haushkha products for 2 -
3 months now and while I like the products, my acne is awful, maybe even worse. I should
also note that I am a performer who wears heavy stage make-up at least 5 days a week, so I
definitely put my face through a lot.
What do you think?? Any products that work four you? Should I get the Proactiv line or just a
few products? I am thinking of just getting a few things to start since my skin is not a
teenagers and I don't need to dry up completely. Any other products you would
recommend?
Thanks in advance.
