poopies come with the territory. A dust buster will zip them up in a jiffy! I clean out the potties everyday. Doesn't bother me. They are fairly dry and don't stink. Not like the kitties!! They can live 10 to 16 years! All depends upon how well you feed them, genetics, environmental factors etc. I feed them no commercial treats EVER, only natural foods. Just the Oxbow papaya tabs for heathy poops. Just don't give them too many pellets (timothy based only), **unlimited! hay, lots of organic greens, minimal sugars ie. carrots and fruit, filtered water, then they should live a long, long life. But some diseases are hereditary or accidents happen, theres no guarantee. I lost Annabel at only 2. I have 2 piggies that are now 5. They usually don't live longer then 5-8 yrs. I don't know what I'll do when Pookie goes. But hes still flying around (yes he not only jumps but flys!) and chases Bridget like theres no tomorrow, lol! I hope he still has another 5 yrs left.........he can go for the record!!
