A theory behind the constant hunger of cats eating this type of food (as well as other low-quality foods) is that they don't contain the protein cats need; with rice as the main ingredient, it just doesn't fill them up. It's a double-edged sword - the rice is high-carb so it makes them fat, yet they can't eat enough to feel satisfied.
