Our girls, who are about 8.5 lbs each, eat approximately 3/4 - 1 5.5oz can per day, split up between 3 meals (the third really being a "snack" right before bed). Our boys, who range from 10-14 lbs, get about 1 1/4 5.5oz can per day, also split up between 3 meals. Wet food is actually great for weight management in kitties...first, it doesn't have nearly the carbs in it that the dry food does, and all the moisture helps fill them up a lot more so they are more satisfied on smaller quantities of food. We did find that 2 meals per day didn't work for our herd; because wet food is more filling, they couldn't consume enough calories in just 2 meals and they were actually getting a little too skinny, so that's why we added the "bed time snack" to our routine. One other thing to keep in mind with wet food is that it can't sit out longer than 20 minutes or it starts going bad. Just refrigerate uneaten portions for the next meal.
