You're right! And I wish I was staying longer than 5 days, but I'm not complaining. We decided to skip the Polynesian Cultural Center, b/c it's expensive & too time consuming given the small amount of time we have there, & I'd rather spend that time at a botanical gardens. There were 5 or 6 to choose from, so I picked Foster for the orchid collection & rare palms. It's right next to Chinatown, so I'll get to see that. I'm going to print up your post to see if there's anything I missed that near what I'm doing.

I'm staying in Ko Olina, which is on the southwest corner of the island, away from Waikiki. It's a much quieter part of the island, but there's a trade off, b/c it's a commute into Honolulu. I don't mind the trade off though b/c of the good deal I got on the hotel/rental car package. Also, the last time I stayed in a big city, downtown San Francisco, it was unpleasantly loud all night: people, traffic, sirens, early morning trash collection, etc. It's probably better that I commute back to a quieter place at night.
