I found the video: mother's friend reported that Adam Lanza "adopted a vegan-organic lifestyle out of a moral compass because he did not want to be the cause of animal suffering." some generalizations are incorrect, some are correct. It seems correct to generalize that people who adopt a vegan lifestyle because they don't wish to cause animal suffering, are less likely to harm animals in general than the average person, and also less likely to harm human animals. That is very different than generalizing about mental illness, or autism. Having the vegan ethic of not wanting to cause suffering to animals should mean that you are less likely to murder human animals. If it doesn't, I would see little point in going vegan.
