I am coming here because I want to become a vegan...not because of animal rights or any of that (though I do feel for them and think it is shameful how animals are treated). I enjoy eating meat. However, I am ready to change. I am ready to have life in me and not dead "food." I do not want to be a fool guinea pig for big corporate profits. My family is going to be a tough issue but I know how to deal with it. What I am not willing to do is cook and provide junk anymore. I want to go more RAW I think. Where is a good place to begin? I am overwhelmed with vegsource (I do not see the beginner's path). I have Rubin Jordan's books...maybe I could start there. I know I should like try and detox my body with parsley and cilantro (bitter yucky to me)and aloe and kale. When I buy it, I wonder how to get the pesticide out of the curly edges of the kale (the only variety at my grocer). I live in TN and will eventually get some better choices but I am broke and cannot afford organic stuff unless its manager markdown. I need a good foundation so I don't "fall off the wagon"...I do not need failure in my life. I'm broken as it is. Is there a Christian vegan that would mentor me?
