Vegans can be mentally ill, just like any other segment of the population. The killer was also a certain height and weight, had a certain eye and hair color, probably followed a certain religion, and was either right or left handed. None of these characteristics means that others with them would also have a tendency to be mass murderers. It's sad that his veganism got thrown in with other descriptions of him, but we all know that has nothing to do with the atrocities he committed.
