Hi everyone. Brand new here. I scanned the existing threads and couldn't find anything pertaining to this. I have read Jo's Raising Veg Children and know that she recommends fortified soy milk for toddlers. I have a 16 month old who just weaned and I had elected to put him on fortified hemp milk for the fat, although it does lack the protein soy milk has. Is this ok? I'm not totally against soy....I'm just trying to limit it and use more whole foods. A lot of dietary advice for young kids revolves around fake meat and cheese which #1 we rarely eat in our house and #2 is sooo processed. Plus, since he's never tasted meat, why would I want to hook him on those flavors? Anyway, is hemp milk ok or do I have to use soy? (P.s. I would consult a vegan nutritionist but there is a grand total of zero in my area, and my ped relies on me to do the research-he has no idea what I should do.)
