Hi Jo! I don't have a problem avoiding honey except for one situation; about a year ago I was very sick with a bad cold, sinus infection and sore throat. I have experienced sinus and allergy problems so much more since I moved to South Jersey. This time it was so bad, I had missed work and couldn't afford to miss anymore (not just for the money but too many absences I can lose my job - yes, even if it is due to illness). My parents kept telling me to drink tea with honey. I know when I was younger this always helped and I was desperate, so I had some tea with honey. It worked amazingly - I felt better immediately and it wasn't much longer until I was well. I don't know what else can compare or substitute for tea with honey when you have a cold or sore throat. It seems there is just something in the honey that has healing properties. Is there any substitue that you can recommend? Thanks, Silvia
