Welcome (back), Starr! I think people become defensive sometimes because they are uninformed or misinformed, or because they feel threatened somehow. Even though we aren't doing anything to coerce them, they probably know deep down that they could be doing better with their diet than they are, and that we make some very good points. A good offense is a good defense, and they are likely striking out so they can protect their lifestyle and choices without having to evaluate (and possibly change) them.
