We have two cats. Both were feral when we adopted them as kittens. Liesl is a very smart kitty. She knows she's got a good gig, with meals provided. Though she'd be an excellent hunter, she never goes after little critters outside. She has probably figured out that there's no need. She prefers to pee outside, but is smart enough to use the litter box when it's raining. Owen is a little dum-dum. Since I built the outdoor enclosure, he refuses to use the litter box no matter what the weather. If it's too wet to go out, he'll walk around the house with his legs crossed, meowing, but won't go out until he just can't hold it any longer. He often catches mice and the occasional bird. He brings them into the house alive, and then drops them. The mice will entertain him for five minutes running from him until they find a place to hide out. The birds are usually too stunned to move. A couple of times, he has brought in a garter snake, much to my wife's horror. All victims get rounded up and escorted outside. We have considered tagging the mice, because we are sure he keeps bringing in the same ones! ;) Keith
