So I really want to have cats again, after our move, but am finding a different environment here. Where I used to be we were in town although there was a kind of park-like place next door where they could play and a small field. The cats were always around and always came in at night to sleep on the bed which kept them safe at night. I brought one kitty over here and he just never wanted to stay in the house, he wanted to wander around instead and of course after a month he has disappeared and I am concerned that he met up with something bad. Everyone here seems to think you should keep cats indoors to keep them safe and keep them from terrorizing small animals, which makes sense, but it seems so unnatural to keep them that way, they really want to be outside, and I have double doors that I like to leave open when the weather's nice so I couldn't keep them in anyway. What do others do? Do you find that older cats will stay home more, maybe I should adopt older cats. Meeka was 2 years old and a neutered male, but he still wouldn't stay home or come in at night. Any thoughts?
