Subject: rats on my property!

Hey everyone, it's been awhile!
Okay, I know this may not be the proper board for this question, so I won't go into much detail. Maybe someone can redirect me to the proper board, or send me a private message with their thoughts. Here is my issue:
I have rats on my property.
I have done everything to rid my property of them (removed food source, disturbed their nesting spots, trapped several in a hav-a-hart trap and relocated them. It is not working.
What would you do? I am a loss.
My property which is only 50' x 150' and in the city limits is friendly to the following other critters: ground hogs, squirrels, possums, birds, cats, snakes, etc. I am a committed vegan. But rats!!! I've lived here for 10 years and never had this problem.
