Hi, Cathy. I'm so glad my tips will be useful. I do totally understand what you are going through. I haven't heard of the hypnosis program, but if it works for you, that's great! Another tip is to center your diet around wholesome starches, such as baked potatoes (without the skin, unless you can tolerate it), winter squashes, and sweet potatoes, with minimal or no fat on them. They are especially soothing during a flare-up. If you want something sweet, unsweetened applesauce and bananas are good treats and are usually very well tolerated and also soothing. Hang in there! It's definitely doable. It just takes some experimenting and self-knowledge (about your triggers and what does doesn't work for your individual needs). Doctors are clueless about IBS in general, and most think vegans are wacky to begin with, so it is VERY difficult to find support in the medical community. For the most part, we're really on our own with this, but it sounds like you are certainly on the right track. Hugs,
