Hi, Kelsey. Congratulations to you for raising your daughter vegan! I'm sorry you are struggling a bit with your ex and with when to explain veganism to your daughter. I suggest reading my book Raising Vegetarian Children (see the link below). Despite the title, it is totally vegan. It provides a lot of supportive information for parents who are in situations like yours, and it will answer your question more thoroughly than I can do here.
