We just got back with Caine, our new dobie. He is a bit out of sorts right now - two strangers just took him away to a strange place, where there are ... cats, of all things! The cats know there's a monster loose in the house. He wasn't too happy about the two and a half hour car ride, either, but he was no trouble. We hadn't met him before last night. We'd just seen his picture and writeup on the web. Of course, we'd talked to the rescue foster parent, and she'd checked us out by talking to a breeder here that we know. The Transition Network is a loose organization of communities around the world that have committed to try to change their lifestyles to one that is less dependent on fossil fuels.
