Subject: Food Allergies Discovered

I have been vegan for the past 5 years and for the past 2 months, I changed to a low fat raw vegan diet. I began feeling fatigued and ravenous to the point I could not get through my workouts or function normally.

About 3 weeks ago, I decided to return to a low fat cooked vegan diet; whereas, I would eat raw foods for breakfast, lunch and snack and cooked food for dinner. Strangely, I began to experience bloating, gas, and skin breakouts.

I went to an allergist to rule out any food intolerances as the cause. The skin test results were postivie allergic reaction to peanuts, soy, corn, green peas, sunflower seeds, pistachio nuts, and possibly wheat and gluten (awaiting blood test results). The allergist requested that I remove all these foods from my vegan diet to see if my stomach issues disappeared.

Good News - I feel alot better...no more GI problems. Bad News - I'm lost as to what else to eat besides fruit, salad, rice and beans. I just discovered that my organic salad dressing has corn starch and my vegan bouillon cubes contains palm oil and yeast.

Can anyone provide some guidance or experience in dealing with this situation?
