Hi, Mike. It sounds like your objective is to convert meat eaters using whatever argument you can find that works on your listeners. That is called proselytization. Your listeners will pick up on it and will reject whatever argument you come up with. Nobody likes being preached to. The most convincing argument in the world will fail if that is your objective.

The economic, environmental and social arguments for veg*ism are all sound arguments, but only if the listener is already open to them. I find that the most convincing argument is to be honest about what I believe. If someone asks me why I am vegan, I tell the truth - that all those arguments are fine and valid, but that for me the real thing is the animal rights argument.

I find that the combination of personal openness and avoiding preaching wins more converts than anything else. Yummy vegan food also helps!
