Thanks for that wonderful link to the archives on this topic, Keith! I don't actually call myself a hippie, although some people have said to me, "You're just an old hippie!" I'm not sure if that is intended as a compliment or an insult. I have hippie values to a large extent -- I'm still a pacifist, still "crunchy," still wear my Birkenstocks, still into natural food and natural living (even though I'm now into urban living). I embrace a hippie philosophy (love, peace, sharing, caring) to a large extent, although I can't say I fully live it or ever have. But I suppose I can say I'm a hippie at heart and strive in that direction.
