Conviction that it's the right thing to do is the bottom line. I too have a husband who eats meat but over the last ten years or so he has gradually dropped off much of it and started eating what I eat because of my conviction. I think too if you are doing it for health reasons you won't be nearly as successful as if you're doing it for ethical reasons.

For a role model on conviction, I look to Paul Watson, who is the most convicted (is that a word??) person I know. He amazes me, he has never waned in his passion to leave a better world over 31 years. He not only has worked for animal rights his entire life and been vegan, but he goes way outside his comfort zone to confront those who are methodically destroying ecosystems. Look him up and people like him.

You might contribute some money, even a small amount, also, to organizations who will send you their magazines, Farm Sanctuary is one, Humane society of United States, etc. If you get these magazines every month it's pretty hard to go back to the old lifestyle. It keeps things in the front of your mind and your priority list.
