If you DO get the garmonts, rewaterproof them before you wear them outside. Use the gel/wipe on, not spray. It might discolor it a bit but...these are not well water proofed. If you are in the desert, then who cares. I've put many miles in a field season on mine in the Great Smokies and they sucked for water proofing. I came home with wet feet way tooo often during out rainly summer (and the occasional stream crossing without rocks to hop on). Re waterproofing wouldn't have been 100% perfect but would have made it better. They aren't good for bushwacking or off trail stuff or certain rainy days but they are super comfy! No complaints about that.
