It's funny, when I first started my husband would say that there was a 50/50 chance that a new recipe would be uneatable and he was actually being kind. I had a lot of disasters. Now I can't remember the last bad meal I've made. I love cooking now because of the ingredients I use. I agree with you that if you're unwilling to cause suffering to nonhuman animals, you're most likely not going to cause pain to other humans. Peace begins on your plate (I'm not sure who originally said that).
